The Caribbean Heritage Reggae Festival returns to Downtown Birmingham for its 15th year, running October 23rd and 24th, 2009
Jamaica Veteran Performer Freddie Mc Gregor Headline this years Event
The Caribbean Heritgage Reggae Festival is a family celebration of Caribbean Culture and music. The event will feature diverse multi-culture talent on one main stage. Talent will include national and local upcoming artist, community dance and college steppers will be featured, other attractions will include arts and crafts, story telling, and book reading. Souvenir vendors will display their goods. Please join in and support this family event that is being developed to expand cultural awareness and encourage our community to come together and appreciate the Caribbean people’s culture, food and music.
The festival is sponsored by SLS Productions and Phase 11 Production, Caribbean Shipping Services, Brand Energy and Infrastructure Service, R&M, Equipment Rental Inc. The festival is held annually downtown in Author Shores Park, between 11 ave North and 12th Ave. North and Shuttlesworth Drive. Attractions includes Jamaica Dance Contest, the crowning of the Festival King and Queen, and Saturday Morning Health Fair and Walk-a-thon.
